Tadah! Haha. It’s my RD. Fortunately, I didn’t do an RDOT this time. I wanna spend time for myself.
I talked to him last martedi. He sound so insincere. I’m for real, but if he’s not, I won’t be.
I went to work, and Angie asked me how the concert went. I told her, ommitting the part that I cried all day just for them to let us go. Words began to spread, and it turned out that I was the only person who went to the show and saw Boyce Avenue in person. Whoohoo!
Surprisingly, I ate lunch with Angel and Arcel. I’m so pissed off with her, but I just shook the feeling off because she’s not doing anything to hurt me, though she’s super annoying. Lem joined us later on and I told her that I went to the Boyce Avenue show. I touched a nerve, I guess, because she went squealing and she said, “Nakakainis ka talaga! Ba’t hind mo sinabi?” Oops. Well, actually, I’ve been telling everyone that I was going to see the show, and unfortunately, Lem wasn’t there when I was doing that.
I apologized (though it’s not my fault) and promised to burn her a CD of the band. Since Angel and Arcel were there, they’ll get free cds as well. I’m gonna show Arcel how nice I am, even if she’s not. And basically, that’s the reason why I’m here now; to copy the Cds. Haha.
I started the “Shopaholic” hype, and everyone was talking about it yesterday, before I went home. I believe I was the first person who get to watch it. After arriving from work, Mom and I went to SM Bacoor to see “Confessions of a Shopaholic”.
Confessions of a Shopaholic

Starring: Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy and Joan Cusack
Prologue: (Haha)
Movie starts when Becky aka Rebecca Bloomwoord was a child. Her mother was a kind of mom who doesn’t have anything to but to save up. In short, she was a bit deprived of things she wanted as a child.
Becky grows up, and she was fabulous. She’s a self-confessed shopaholic and shops using 12 credits (dang!). She’s a journalist, working in an insignificant agency. She really hates her job and looking for another. In fact, she applied for a position in a highly-recognized fashion magazine in New York, Alette.
Before the interview, she passed by at Denny and George and saw that they’re on sale. She walks in and buys the fabulous green scarf she’s eyeing, for like, forever. She uses her credit cards and all of her cash, but she’s 20 bucks short. She went on a hotdog stand and asks the man who sells hotdog if she can borrow $ 20 from him, because she needs to buy the green scarf for her Aunt Germintrude. The man just laughs and the people in the line started to get annoyed. A man behind Becky waves a 20 dollar bill in front of her face. Becky thanked the man and took the money. Off she went and bought the scarf.
Later that afternoon, she arrives at Alette. Unfortunately, the interview was over, and Alette already chose a new editor, Alicia. Alicia shows up, looking fabulous and smiles at her.
Becky was about to leave when the gay receptionist told her that there’s an interview right now at Successful Saving Magazine, which was in the same building. Becky goes to the interview and meets the new editor-in-chief, Luke Brandon, the man who gave him 20 dollars.
Becky hids the green scarf under a desk when Luke wasn’t looking. They started the interview and she messes up. She told her that she speaks fluent Finnish but when she was asked bye Luke to speak in Finnish, she squeals and tells him that that there’s a naked man outside his office, just to change the topic. Luke’s assistant picks her scarf and gives it to her in front of Luke. Luke asks about what happened to her aunt and why she has the scarf. She told look that Aunt Germintrude died and she walked out from the interview.
Becky goes back to the office, and her own magazine gave out termination letters; they’re closing. Becky goes home to her apartment, which she shares with her bestfriend, Suze, unemployed. They calculated all of her bills and the total was 16 hundred dollars or something. Becky sends a letters in pink envelops. One for Alette, saying that she really wanted to work there, and the other was for Luke Brandon, returning the 20 dollars she borrowed.
She accidentally switches the letters, and the letter for Alette ended up with Luke Brandon, who really thought that she wanted to work in Successful Saving.
Lukes hire her, and she retrieves the 20-dollar letter from Alette. Luke took Rebecca in a press conference and he forced him to ask questions. Luke assigns her an story, and tells her, “Remind me why I hired you.”
Instead of going home and finishing the assignment, she goes into a sale and arrives home late. When she went home, she was sad to see the items she bought were made in China. Then, that inspired her to write an article. Becky gives the article to Luke Brandon, who was impressed. he made her a columnist. She wrote behind the pen name, “Girl in the Green Scarf.”
Becky became quite famous, giving advices about finance, while she couldn’t handle her own financial problems. Derek Smeath, the collections manager started chasing after her, because of her payment dues.
In a meeting, Derek Smeath calls, but Becky tells her that Derek was her ex and he’s stalking him. They went to Florida to attend some parties, and Luke introduced Becky to the Nokia CEO, who was, by the way, Finnish. Becky fakes Finnish and slapped him when he talked to him.
Becky was invited to show up in a tv show, called the Morning Coffee, wherein Derek Smeath shows up and tell the audience how much she owes his company. Alette (the edito in chief) was so impressed by her that she helped her dress up for the show. Alette made Alicia to hold Becky’s bag while she try on a dress. Derek Smeath calls and Alicia answers Becky’s phone and gave Derek the details where to find Becky.
Suze buys Becky a dress for her wedding and made her go to a group of reformed shopaholics. Becky just triggered the shopaholism of the attendees, which resulted for the group to get a new leader. Becky bumped into the new group leader outside the meeting place and asked her to keep the purple dress, which she’ll wear to the show and the dress that suze gave her at the trunk of her car. The leader made Becky give the dresses to charity.
Later on, Becky bought the dresses back, and her money was just enough for one, so she took the purple dress, leaving Suze’s dress.
Derek Smeath shows up in the show and humiliates Becky. She told the truth to Luke and Luke walks out. Suze found out that she gave the dress away. Becky retreats to her parents’ house and thought over the things. Alette visits her at home and asks her to join the magazine. She turne down the offer, because she thought that’s she’s making a wrong decision.
Becky sold all her stuff, including the green scarf. With the help of her group, they were able to auction the green scarf. The highest bid was 300 dollars. Becky bought back the bride’s maid’s dress from the woman who bought it and goes to Suze’s wedding. Suze forgave her. She paid all her debts to Derek Smeath.
After the wedding, she walks home and saw the stores. The manequins seemed to tempt her but she just shook the feeling. Luke Brandon stands on her way. Well, it’s a happy ending because she made it up with Luke and they got married. She learned Finnish and opened up a business.
Though there’s a lot of difference between the book and the movie, I still liked the movie. It’s not your typical chick flick. In this movie, the enemy is the protagonist herself. Mom told me that we’ll buy popcorn when we finish our burger and fries. But the two of us forgot, because the movie was so good. There’s no dull moment, and I was laughing all the time.
10 out of ten stars. I didn’t know that Jerry Bruckheimer do movies like that. Wow. Plus the soundtrack is so cool.
After the movie, we went on shopping. I bought books, magazine, candies and chocolates. I wasn’t in the mood to buy clothes, shoes or bags because I was truly affected by the movie. We went home after.
I watched American Idol, and this season’s top 12 selection sucks. The 36 people were grouped into 12 and they’ll just get three every week. This week’s picks:
1.) Danny Hokey (I don’t know if that’s the last name): He’s sure in. There’s a touch of David Cookism in his personality, plus he’s cute.
Vocal Range: impressive
Style: Normal
Personality: Oozing with sex appeal. Sorry, but I think I’m happy that he’s single (he’s wife died four weeks before the audtions.)
2.) Anoop Desai a.k.a Anoop Dogg: When I saw him, I thought he’s the next Sanjaya Malakar. I was wrong. Don’t mind the looks and close your eyes, he’ll be handsome. Vocal Range: Sharp but good. Style: Catchy Personality: Likable and charming.
3.) Michael Sarver: the guy I remembered the audition aside from Anoop Dogg, Danny and Scott. I love his voice. Don’t be fooled by the large body, he has great things going on inside him. Too bad he picked a wrong wrong. He looke weird while singing that song performed also my Chris Richardson 2 seasons ago. Vocal range: Good Style: Confusing Personality: Charming and Likable.
4.) Alexis Grace: She’s so cute! She looked so nice and sweet. She’s the season 8’s Brooke White. Vocal Range: Okay Style: No comment Personality: Sweet and likable.
5.) Tatiana Del Toro: Definitely, she’s season 8’s Sanjaya Malakar meets Kristy Lee Cook. She looks so innocent but she’s very, very annoying. Dang. Lem told me that I laugh like her! Geez. I will never ever let people hear my laugh. Vocal Range: She screwed up on a Whitney Houston song. Style: Crazy. One time, she’s this psycho, crazy girl but last night, she’s demure and shy! Simon was right. She’s such a drama queen. Personality: Annoying.
I went to bed after the show.
